Below is an interview with IMhaha, Inc. We hope you find the interview informative and useful. Please visit their website and check it out!

TechAddress: Tell me a bit about your company, what it does and what’s your value proposition?

IMhaha: We are a company based in the center of Silicon Valley and started by a group of experienced Internet and software engineers and business professionals. We want to provide the most innovative Internet-based communications and entertainment services to our global user base.

TechAddress: What makes your company stand apart from your competitors?

IMhaha: Our first product is a web-based IM solution which is similar to what Meebo and eBuddy offer. We stand apart from our competitors because:

a) We developed the back-end cross IM messaging solutions ourselves, unlike our competitors whose solutions are based on open source software such as GAIM. So we can easily add new functionalities that our competitors could find hard to do, e.g. the cross-IM group conference, which I will talk about later. We believe we have huge technical advantages. Our developers all have many years of experience with mission critical web applications used by major financial institutions and Internet sites.
b) We support QQ, which is the largest IM network in the world with 400 million registered and 220 million active users.
c) As I mentioned before we have some truly unique features such as cross-IM conference whereby a user can invite his friends from two different IM systems into the same group chat. None of the other IM solutions offer this feature.
d) We use SSL technology (https instead of http) to encrypt all the messages sent by our users. We believe it is important for our users to have the peace of mind that their communications are safe and secure.
e) We will soon release some excite products that will make us stand further apart from our competitors.

TechAddress: What are some of the main features?

IMhaha: As I mentioned before, our first product is a web-based cross-platform IM solutions. Our users don’t need to download any software. They can log into the four largest IM networks in the world, MSN, Yahoo, AIM/ICQ, QQ. Our system offer features like single sign-on, cross-platform conference, online white board, etc. Without downloading software, our users don’t need to worry about potential viruses or spywares coming down to their computers with the downloaded software. They can chat with their friends on any computer which has Internet connection and an Internet browser.

TechAddress: Who’s your target customer or audience?

IMhaha: Our target audience is all the IM users right now. But we want to reach to all the Internet users with our future products and services.

TechAddress: Any new things in particular that you’re working on right now?

IMhaha: We will be releasing some very exciting services soon. Please stay tuned.

TechAddress: Where do you see your company heading in the future?

IMhaha: We want to take advantages of the new web technologies like AJAX to deliver very innovative web-based solutions to offer our users a new web based experience.

TechAddress: Any negative feedback or criticism regarding technology and services?

IMhaha: We launched our service early this year and our user base has been growing so fast that it put a lot of pressure on us to scale up our systems while developing new features. Our users are requesting new features every day. Sometimes we just have to say “Sorry, we are working on it and will have that in the near future.”

TechAddress: So what would you say is the guiding principle behind your company?

IMhaha: The guiding principle behind our company is to always listen to our users, always do what our users want.

TechAddress: What is the mission of your company and what are you bringing to the market that is innovative?

IMhaha: Our mission is to provide all our users a truly easy and happy web-based communications and entertainment experience. We named our company IMhaha because we want everybody to be happy, smiling and laughing while using our services. Our products and services will speak for themselves how innovative they are. What I can say is that many things we are working on are or will be “the first in the world”.

TechAddress: Where are you in terms of funding and your lifecycle?

IMhaha: Our company is being funded by the founders and some angel investors. We are still young but growing fast. Please go to and check back often for new services.
